"SOMEONE RIDING A HORSE OF MINE? NEVER!"

Not until I was facing knee surgery where I would be laid up for months.  The choice was leaving my young horse in pasture at home – OR – finding someone to expand his mind and improve his body.  This is where Missy came to the rescue.  She became his teacher in a clean and safe environment.  We stayed in touch regarding his progress and decided together how to proceed.  Missy taught him reliable responses to simple cues.  She slowed his youthful energy so that Poet and I were both ready to continue our special relationship – at an even safer and healthier pace than before my surgery!  "WE THANK YOU, MISSY!" Kathleen S, CO says:
Honestly, you are by far the most honest, and easy to learn from ( via DVD's for me) and i just resonate with your philosophies.  I am very impressed Missy. The mold seems to have been broken with YOU  ;)  And that is a shame.  So thank god for the things you do with horses and how many of us (women) (and i am sure men as well) have learned how to teach, train and have FUN with the horses who bring JOY to our lives, at a much needed time, it seems.

Kacey A, CA writes again: Had both boys out on a gorgeous 10mi trail ride yesterday (bitless, as always) and it was just wonderful!  We went through rushing creeks, cantered up switchback trails and had a grand time.  You don't need a bit to have control!

Suzy M of Oregon writes: Hi Missy, I wanted to be sure and let you know how wonderful you are and what a fantastic trainer you turned out to be! Finding you was the best thing I could have done for Bambi and I. When I brought her to you I was lost and so worried that she wouldn’t be the horse I knew she could be. I knew that I alone couldn’t teach her as I needed help too!  What a difference you have made in our lives. She is a completely different horse now and an absolute joy to ride. She is calm, relaxed and much more confident than she was when we first arrived, AND with the lessons you have given me, my confidence has reached a new level as well.  I really feel that her and I have a trusting bond with one another which wasn’t there before we came to you. A whole new world has been opened for me and who thought I would ever ride bitless! I have sold all my bridles, bits and spurs and have vowed never to allow another bit in her mouth.  I can’t thank you enough Missy and look forward to trail rides in the summer!

Kacey A, of Los Gatos, CA says - I worked Ruckus yesterday in your ALL-IN-ONE Rope Halter Bitless Bridle with the training stick and he did so well. He is getting better at backing with the rope shake each time we work. We worked on holistic lunging at a walk and trot, flexing and one rein stops, disengaging hind quarters, and desensitization and he was so wonderful! I also rode him in the ALL-IN-ONE Rope Halter Bitless Bridle for the first time and he was great.

Allison H of Oregon writes:  I am continuing to work on the ground techniques you showed me and they are all responding well. Everyone has been very impressed with the changes in Raz, especially with mounting. She still stands stiff as a statue for mounting and I am the envy of the barn! What a difference!

Kathy N. of Oregon writes: I am looking forward to seeing you again.  My Morgan has calmed down so much.  He has manners now and I am in horse love.  Thanks for your confidence in us both.

Kathleen of Colorado writes:  I made the All-In-One a little bit bigger on my guys nose, like you suggested and it is perfect. Although he is REAL hairy right now ( Icelandic), as it is winter and i had measured him before the hair growth.  So i am good to go in any case.  What a wonderful design. I have had a lot of rope/bridles that were all sloppy on the horses head, or where the reins attached it was too high on the nose piece, and it slopped around that way.  Very very nice set up.  I love that i have the long rope attached and that i bought the little black leather piece to attach it to my saddle when i ride.  I have a just coming 4 year old icey and will be doing a 'hike' ( me walking him) and some riding....with a friend on the trail, for his first time this coming week. The long rope will be great for any training i may need to do.

I will keep taking crap from people about 'metal' in their mouths....and am SO thankful you are out their pioneering for the horse, and WOMEN.  Many thanks for great products and showing us, we DO NOT have to put metal in our horses mouths.

Stacey writes: "I just used my new ALL-IN-ONE halter today. I like it!!  Good idea.  It will be fun to review some of your concepts on the video.  I used the WHolistic Joining today with my new Kiger mare.  She understood what I was talking about right away.

The Clinic Highlights DVD is SUPER!!!  I felt like I was right there at the barn.  This way, I can refer to it time and time again when I forget what you've said.  I love it!  As far as I'm concerned you have the best approach out there.  I am convinced that dealing with the WHOLE horse is the answer.  It has sure benefited Timber and me.  I have watched Dennis Reis and Clinton Anderson on occasion and I find myself saying "Missy wouldn't have done it that way" or "I like the way Missy would have handled that."  I just think you are terrific and a boon to the equine world.  THANK YOU MISSY!  Sue S, Drain, OR

Susan Brown writes:  My family purchased the ALL-IN-ONE Plus Reins in Gold on July 5th (my birthday) and I was really pleased to be able to share the story about our rescue bay mare from an auction.  We tried out the bridle today and our wonderful girl loved it!!  She would hardly back up with a bit in her mouth, but my daughter got her to back up the full length of the arena for the first time!  She is such a loving gal and we are so blessed.  I am so looking forward to the DVD that I won in the drawing.  Thanks so much for everything!  May God Bless, Susan Brown

Linda Bogatay writes:  I received (QUICKLY and I thank you!) my ALL-IN-ONE halter/bridle and rein this morning.  I put it on my mare, checked her out and went for a trail ride.  All went VERY well.  My few rides on her have been mostly bitless so all was familiar.  Thank you, Linda Bogatay.

Pat P writes:  Pam and I enjoyed our experience at your clinic and learned more than we could imagine.  Your approach is the best that I've seen and addressing the whole horse is only logical in my mind.  Thanks again for having your clinic and I am sure that Pam and I would like to attend others like it.  Pat, WA

:  I got a glimpse of your presentation in Spokane this last weekend.  I am one of those nutty old women training my own young horse and we're learning as we go.  I have struggled so much with the different methods and have just not felt comfortable with what I've been and/or trying to do.  One step forward, one step back.  I purchased your DVD's and we will be starting your program this week and I am so excited to not get drug across the manure piles and have my girls constantly upset!  Thank you so much for passing on your methods and I am sure the girls and I will be a lot more successful in the future using those methods that I so much believed in and used, but have been criticized for buy long time horse people.  I hope to you in the person one day and take one of your courses.  Again, thank you for your knowledge and bravery to present it!

Jennifer Ferguson writes:  I just want to take a couple minutes and tell you how educational your clinic was last Sunday.  I was so excited learning that I explained the whole thing to my husband (who actually seemed interested too and didn't just roll his eyes....hehe), and a dear friend of mine.  My friend teaches 4-H to kids, and I am going to go with her to the next meeting and help teach the kids the so called hoola hoop space technique.  Basically getting the horse to respect our space and only let them in on invitation.  I've found after watching you and listening that it seems to be a big problem with a lot of horse owners because we all know how pushy our horses can be.  Also explaining it like you did will probably sink in better with the kidlets opposed to just saying in general, respect your space.  We are actually going to bring out hoola hoops and make it more fun!  Thanks again Missy!  You did a great job, so I just wanted to share that with you!

Colleen of the Natural Horse Network after the Teleseminar writes:

Oh thank you so very much. You really are a different trainer you know. You make people feel comfortable and that is so important. And as one person told me you put the horse first :) Colleen NHN

Aggressive over food:

Hi Missy, I have applied your suggestions to feeding Gracie this week so I felt like giving you an update. Gracie actually responds quite well and quickly. This horse has had a strong leader before me, so when I act like her leader she likes it. What you say about horses like to be lead is true. Personally, I have been this "new" leader consistently every day. And so now at the end of the week we are back to feeding in her stall and I feel safe and she lets me in with out mugging me. Actually she moves away from the door before she even see's me. I call her name as I come towards the stalls, when I come through the gate and into the stall she is standing nicely and quietly and peacefully. If she takes one step towards me I raise my stick and say sshhhhhhhh. She lowers her head, takes a step back and waits for me.   Thank you for being detailed with the explanation. I found this very helpful and I wanted to tell you thank you.   Cindy M. Oregon

Hi There !
Al rode Zippy yesterday at McIver. The only thing Zippy did wrong was jumping sideways off the trail and just as quickly jumping sideways back on the trail. Luckily Al was holding on to the saddle horn at the time.  Zippy's mother led the way across the bridge but he preferred to be lead horse. When we came back on the same trail he led the way across the bridge. Other things he saw was a deer, which he froze in his tracks, and two kids on bicycles that rode passed us and he didn't even flinch. You are right  he is going to be a good trail horse.  Thank you for keeping such good care of our boy.    Al & Jeanne
